Saturday’s presentation will explore the evolution of Jung’s opus into a coherent world view throughout his lifetime. The focus will be on his understanding of psychological transformation as it began with his confronting the unconscious (1913 – 1928) through his last mature writings (1951 – 1954). I would like to give participants a feel for Jung’s completed writing as one cogent piece. We will recognize significant ways Jungian psychology facilitates healing on the individual, as well as collective, level. With this overview of Jung’s work, we will discuss one of Marie-Louise von Franz’s last conversations with Jung in which he offers a critique of his own efforts and details his hopes for future generations of research, extending his founding efforts to yet wider and deeper horizons.
