JUNG’S REVELATIONS ABOUT OUR PRESENT AND FUTURE TIMES, IN THE JOURNEY THROUGH THE RED BOOK

VENUE: The Kiln Shed, Whichford Pottery, Shipston on Stour. CV36 5PG
DATE: Saturday 29th August 2026
TIME: 10:30 am – 5:00 pm

What did Jung find out about our times, and reveal of the way of what is to come? Reading the Red Book shows us the depth of his vision, and how he saw our present civilisational problems in the West. Jung saw the necessity for transformation of the individual’s relationship to the soul as a response to these immense difficulties. He urged us to understand the soul’s power to influence the future and participate in this great task of transformation. How are we to see ourselves in relationship to this?

Morning Presentation

Jung makes many comments about love, violence and war and sees their meaning from different angles. We explore these conflicts from a psychological viewpoint, as they are experienced in our present society. The Red Book is our key to open up their deeper nature through words and images, and look beneath the outer events to find the light of a new era. Here we find  space for individual reflections, which turn us towards optimism. Some material from other 20th century spiritual individuals, who saw what Jung saw, and who, with him, felt how deeply important was the human soul and thus the connection to our spiritual life.

Afternoon Presentation

Jung was imbued with an historical perspective in all his work. This gave him an enormous vision of our times. From the foundation of our psychic origins, he reached far into the future into the potential for the evolution of human beings. For Jung, individuation was, in the final analysis, work that came out of our historical foundations, linked us into the collective unconscious and took us far into the cosmic landscape.  Jung gives a solution to our difficulties through the work with the human soul – and how we might find once more, the confidence in her. We see, in the Red Book the importance of that period called the ‘Dark Night of the Soul’ which brings us to a new light, both in ourselves and in the world.
