January 12, 2pm-4pm "If you've gotta ask..." This talk will address the question of whether religious sensibilities are innate or learned. Andrew Taylor is an Anglican priest, currently researching a book on ways in which jazz music can enable theological reflection.

  SPECIAL SERIES: AWAKENING CONSCIOUSNESS

7 February Synchronicity and Awakening Consciousness. Roderick Main, PhD, is Senior Lecturer and Deputy Director in the Centre for Psychoanalytic Studies, University of Essex. Author of many books including Revelations of Chance: Synchronicity as Spiritual Experience (SUNY, 2007).

6 March "Rose is a rose is a rose is a rose" This talk will reflect upon mythical consciousness in our time and past times as revealed through the image of the rose. Philippa Campbell is a Jungian analyst.

3 April The Death of Death: Individuation in the Age of Spiritual Machines. Can the human condition be made more understandable through technology? John Pickering's background is experimental psychology.

1 May Witness for the Rejected: the effect of consciousness on the outcast. Oonagh Ribet is a Jungian analyst. She is author of Guild pamphlet 282 Bitterness and Alienation: an essential part of the transformative journey.

 
 
5 June Vengeance not Justice. Diana Grace-Jones is a Fellow of the Guild and a past chairwoman. She is author of pamphlet 276 The Necessity of Heathcliffe. Vengeance and Betrayal in Wuthering Heights.

2 October Discussion with a close reading of C.G. Jung's text. Concerning Rebirth CW9 (i). Jim FitzGerald is a Jungian analyst and author of Guild pamphlets 253 The Father's Shadow and the Source of the Masculine and 275 Vision of Light: The Healing Power of the Numinous.

6 November Losing Jung - the Unwritten Jung. This evening will be a seminar discussion contrasting the oral tradition surrounding Jung with the edited Jungian texts. Arthur Sherman is a Jungian training analyst with the Society of Analytical Psychology.

March 12, April 16, May 14, June 11 Reading Jung: Four Seminars with Ean Begg. These seminars will comprise a reading of: "The Introduction to the Religious and Psychological Problems of Alchemy" from C.G.Jung's Collected Works Vol.12. Ean Begg is a Fellow and former Chairman of the Guild to which he has given many talks. Wednesdays 7:30pm-9:00pm in the library, max. 15 places, £60 for the series.

June 14 Opening the Hidden Door - Working with Dreams. This workshop offers a structured approach to working with dream material. Matthew Harwood is a Jungian analyst. Saturday, 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm, members £20, non-members £30, max. 20 places.

3 July Annual General Meeting Thursday, 7:30pm.

October 18 Why Jung? Jung's theories as providing insights to meeting the demands of our new century will be discussed. Polly Young-Eisendrath is a psychologist and Jungian psychoanalyst. She has published fourteen books. Saturday, 2pm-4pm, members free, non-members £15.

4 December Winter Celebration Seasonal refreshments will be served. Thursday, 7:30pm.
