The Dream of the Cosmos
Speaker: Anne Baring

Anne Baring is a Jungian Analyst and joint author, with Jules Cashford, of the seminal book ‘The Myth of the Goddess, Evolution of an Image’. Anne will suggest that the cosmos is alive, intelligent and the ground of our own consciousness. She will explore the difference between lunar and solar consciousness and show why now we need now to unite these two kinds of consciousness. She will illustrate her theme with ancient images, photographs from Hubble and the paintings of Cecil Collins and others.

Spring event with Jonathan Stedall 'A Film Maker's Spiritual Journey’

Jonathan will talk about his spiritual quest (subject of his recent book ‘Where on Earth is Heaven?’) and he will show his film about CG Jung, made with Laurens van der Post, which includes unique footage of the Red Book. Revd. Chris MacKenna is a Jungian Analyst and Director of the St Marylebone Healing Centre. Chris has talked to various Analytical Psychology groups over the years about Jung’s ‘Answer to Job’. He will discuss how his relationship to the text has changed and developed.

Divinity, Tragedy, Violence

Dr Leon Febres Cordero studied in Zurich and London. He gave his first lecture to IGAP in 1994 and has lectured extensively in Spain. He is also a playwright. In this talk he will ask ‘What is the force that gives tragedy necessity, continuity and validity in man’s life as opposed to its utter absence in the listless life of beasts … ?’ Joint event with CG Jung Psychology Club : (this is the second Thursday in July )

Oxford Conference : THE WISDOM OF THE BODY
speakers : Dr Charles Zeltzer and others.
Venue: St Hilda’s College, Oxford
Dr Zeltzer is a Jungian Analyst and former Director of Training at the CG Jung Institute of Los Angeles. He will explore the symbolism of the chakras as they manifest in seven bodily locations. He will speak on Saturday and Sunday on Kundalini Yoga, Alchemical Symbolism and Individuation.
Birgit Heuer is a Jungian Analytic Psychotherapist and professional member of the BAP with a background in body psychotherapy. Her doctoral research at Essex University is about the Clinical theory of Health and Healing. She will speak on Sunday morning Body, Being and Analysis : ʻTo Be or not to Beʼ.
Andrew Walker is a past Director of the London Centre for Spirituality, a Psychosynthesis Counsellor and an Anglican Priest interested in Ignation Spirituality. He will speak on Saturday afternoon on Sexuality and Christian Spirituality.
Amélie Noack is a Jungian Analyst, a Training Group Analyst, professional member of the Association of Jungian Analysts and the Institute of Group Analysis. She works in private practice in London and Bristol. She also teaches and supervises in the UK and abroad, combining Jungian Analysis, Group Analysis and Winnicottʼs contribution. She will talk about on Friday evening about The Dreaming Body and conduct a daily Dream Matrix.
Val Rainbow is a Reiki Master and Sacred Clown trained with the Tao of the Clown who will lead the Conference in ʻFooling Aroundʼ on Saturday evening.

The Second Half of Life is for Soul Making

Mary Jo Radcliffe is an honoured past chair of the Guild of Pastoral Psychology and founder of ‘Coping with Change’. She has a particular interest in the process and pattern in periods of transition. Her talk will look at these from a spiritual, psychological and practical point of view focussing on the second half of life.

The Remora : an interpretation of Sleeping Beauty,
the mythical relationship to the inner dark feminine.
Speaker: Brenda Crowther
Venue: Essex Church Thursday 7.30pm
Brenda Crowther trained at GAPS and practices in East Sussex. She is following further research and training at the Jung-von Franz Centre for Depth Psychology in Switzerland. Before her MA in Philosophy she studied painting and Art History and this talk on 'The Remora' is illuminated with some of her work. She is a past trustee of the Guild of Pastoral Psychology.
